Home Office: conversion/restoration

This building began life as part of a prep school gymnasium on the grounds of a large stately home. It had several incarnations after the IIWW, and had, in resent times fallen into a state of disrepair. The roof was on the verge of collapse and had begun to rot the beams.

The east facing wall was finished in limber cladding with a bespoke oak window board and trim to compliment the beams.

It is important for us, when renovating a building like this, to maintain its corrector and to keep it in keeping with the main property and those in the area.

The two oak means, in the images above, were in very bad shape due to the collapse of the roof. Both would need to be replaced as they helped to tie the building together.
